It's time to take a look at some paper!
These Rhodia pads are awesome! If you're into fountain pens or even if you're just looking for a nicer writing experience with your existing writing materials, these pads are a great choice! A lot of people who get into fountain pens don't realize that a third of the battle is actually the paper they're writing on. They don't realize there's a whole world of paper out there that suits their needs far better than regular notebook paper.
Generally, 80 gsm (grams per square metre) paper or higher is what you're looking for. This refers to heavier paper that takes fountain pen ink better than lighter papers do. Some have coatings and some are made of different kinds of materials. Vellum paper is typically higher quality for example.
My personal favorite pad is the N°16 Dot Pad. I prefer the 5.8"×8.3" size for my work bag, my personal letters to my family and just general note-taking or sketching. The dots are super helpful for line spacing or horizontal spacing as well! The quality is nice and the writing experience is good, even with my cheaper pens.
I can't recommend these enough! I'll post some more notes on paper soon! I would like to take a closer look at some notebooks and a few different pads as well in the near future.
For now, check out Rhodia's offerings!
