I'm back again with another review!

This time, it's a set of penrolls that I has made by Scott .

Now I'm new enough to fountain pens that I have a fairly small collection so I have little need for huge storage solutions just yet and it's with that in mind that I started thinking about how I was going to store and transport some of these pens on a smaller scale to start out.

I first solution I got was a set of leather pen slips. Several single pen slips and one two-pen slip. These are great and I've still got them, but they're really more for everyday carry versus long term or even medium term storage. Typically I'll carry my Lamy Aion or Monteverde Innova in those as a daily carry pen but I'm not keeping them in the slips when I don't have them with me.

This is where Scott comes in. I don't remember exactly how we connected but he mentioned to me at one point that he made watch and penrolls which intrigued me as my pen collection had grown enough to justify a larger storage solution so I inquired further. After some discussion and agreement on the colours blue and red as well as size, the first penroll was made, shipped, received and perfect.

Obviously I needed some more, so I asked Scott if we could go smaller, different colors and an additional feature. I asked him if we could get a slim plastic strip inside the outer lip of the pockets. Some of my pens have very stiff clips and I felt this would help stop the clips pulling on the material so badly which it in fact, did. Besides that, I had him make it in a green and purple, two colours which I enjoy.

Thus was born this beauty!


I love this penroll as it works perfectly for my job. It doesn't carry as many pens as the first, but it carries enough that I can have some selection when I'm at work and have some time to work on my writing.


Finally, I wanted one for a special purpose and so this last roll was born.

The third penroll was created specifically with my three MaJohn Q1's in mind. Since they are an odd shape and extra wide. I wanted a roll specifically for them and Scott made me one out of duck canvas and it turned out amazing! It's the perfect size for all three pens!

Overall the experience working with Scott is excellent. He's very responsive, listens to your ideas and is willing to work with you so that you get exactly what you're looking for! I would highly recommend anyone looking for pen storage they can travel with or everyday carry go to Scott . Besides him going out of his way to produce good quality work, his prices are reasonable (almost too good) and he's very prompt with shipping. It should go without saying but he accepts BTC through the lightning network.

I love my three pen rolls. They all serve individual purposes in my pen collection and are purpose built for that. I'm sure at some point I'll want another one or need one as a gift for someone else and when that day comes I'll be asking Scott .
