I've been absent for a little while, some of the reasons were expected and some weren't. We sold our house and have moved but we're in the middle of a family conflict now. Not ours, someone else's but it's still something we need to deal with occasionally.

I love how the Lamy nib comes right off the front of the pen and is interchangeable with other Lamy nibs. It is very easy to turn a fine pen into a broad pen and you can even get 14k gold nibs off the same variety and turn your $30 Lamy into $130 Lamy.

The Sheaffer fine nib on the other hand, writes a touch nicer. It's a bit wetter and makes thicker lines than the Lamy fine. I wouldn't get this pen in anything but a fine as it's somewhere between the Lamy fine and Medium. Overall it's a good writing experience for the money.

This thing is HEAVY, especially to cap. Much more weighty than the Lamy and TWSBI pens I have already. I like the weight it has as it feels more substantial in the hand. I don't know that I would write with it for longer than a few hours maybe but I do enjoy it.

It writes a little nicer than my Lamys but not quite as nice as the TWSBI.

It's a decent mid-range pen.

Anyone who knows me knows I have a strong dislike of planned obsolescence. Everything is increasingly made of garbage and it drives me nuts.

Enter the fountain pen.

To start, they're made to be refilled which means they're too be reused in a way (for a lifetime) that your average ballpoint or rollerball aren't. They're really made to last and I love that.

Second, they write SO NICELY. Their performance is far above mass market pens. As an artist, I've had some nice pens in my life but these outstrip all of them. And these two are beginner pens!

I'm genuinely enjoying writing maybe for the first time in my life and these pens feel like the kind of item worth buying with Bitcoin as they stand the test of time, they are fun to use and they are beautiful to boot.
